Engineering Stillness

A botanical sculpture that must hold its posture for a decade is an engineering problem before it is a compositional one. Weight, leverage, and transit load decide what the composition is allowed to do.

Ballast before botany

Every vessel is loaded with a hybrid dry-foam and gravel ballast, then locked with structural foam before a single stem is placed. The mass sits low, so a tall asymmetrical composition can lean without threatening to walk off a console.

Transit as a design constraint

Each specimen ships pre-assembled in custom laser-cut packaging. The vessel is cut into its own board, so the sculpture never bears transit load, and the collar is removed after placement rather than before.

What arrives on site

Lift, set, remove the collar. No on-site assembly, no installation risk, no maintenance, no light, no water thereafter.
